Your instructor is Ramon Palacio, who has over 30 years of law enforcement experience in one of the largest cities in the State of Florida. During his law enforcement career, which he continues today as a Police Reserve Major, he worked for years on a plain-clothes tactical unit targeting street-level crimes such as robberies and narcotics. He has received dozens of commendations and awards, including commendations for detecting, thwarting, and apprehending suspects involved in burglaries-in-progress and in hand-to-hand narcotics transactions. His experience includes deployments during periods of civil unrest, demonstrations, dignitary protection, and natural disasters.
As a firearms instructor, he is a NRA Certified Instructor in First Steps Pistol, Basic Pistol Course, Personal Protection Inside the Home, and Personal Protection Outside the Home, as well as in Refuse to Be a Victim workshops. Additionally, he has studied the laws of self-defense extensively. He holds a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, a master’s and juris doctor degree, is a graduate of the Law of Self Defense Instructor Program, a course of study taught directly by internationally-recognized self-defense law expert attorney Andrew F. Branca, and is able to bring to the classroom the unique perspectives of both theory and real-world situations.
Ramon Palacio began working with the American Red Cross as a volunteer in its disaster response team decades ago before becoming an instructor. As an instructor and Licensed Training Provider, he now offers in-home or in-office instruction in the combined Adult and Pediatric First Aid, CPR, and AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) American Red Cross curriculum. Ramon Palacio’s combined education and experience allows him to provide his students with a unique and authoritative perspective in all the classes he instructs.
